Ulbo Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By using Ulbo, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use Ulbo.

Ulbo is an independent app developed and operated in Australia. In these terms, "Ulbo", "we", "us" and "our" refer to the Ulbo service and its operator.

2. What Ulbo is

Ulbo is a journalling app that uses artificial intelligence to reflect on what you write and help you notice feelings, patterns and connections in your own writing.

Ulbo is designed as a tool for personal reflection. Its AI-generated responses are not a substitute for professional care or advice.

Ulbo is not a medical device, therapy service, counselling service or crisis service. Ulbo does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical or mental health condition. Nothing generated by Ulbo should be treated as medical, psychological or professional advice.

Ulbo is not monitored by a human. Writing something in Ulbo does not notify a professional, emergency service or another person.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or need support, please contact a qualified professional or one of the support services listed in the app. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency service.

3. Age requirements

You must be at least 16 years old to use Ulbo.

By using Ulbo, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

4. AI-generated content

Ulbo uses artificial intelligence to generate reflections based on the information you provide.

AI-generated responses can be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading or incorrect. Ulbo may misunderstand what you have written or make connections that do not reflect your actual thoughts or circumstances.

You should use Ulbo's reflections as prompts for your own thinking, rather than as facts or professional advice.

You are responsible for deciding whether and how to act on anything generated by Ulbo.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of the writing, drawings and other content you create in Ulbo.

You give Ulbo the limited permission necessary to store, process and use your content to provide the features of the service, including generating AI reflections and displaying your content back to you.

We handle your content as described in our Privacy Policy.

Please do not use Ulbo to intentionally store or submit another person's personal information without their permission. You must also not use Ulbo to submit content that is unlawful or that you do not have the right to provide.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• attempt to gain unauthorised access to Ulbo, its accounts, systems or infrastructure
• interfere with or disrupt the service
• overload or abuse the service or its systems
• reverse-engineer, decompile or otherwise attempt to discover how Ulbo works, except where permitted by law
• use Ulbo to develop or operate a competing service using our systems, data or content
• bypass usage limits or other technical restrictions
• use Ulbo for unlawful purposes.

We may limit, suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe the service is being abused, misused or used in breach of these terms.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep Ulbo available and reliable, but we cannot guarantee that the service will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free.

We may add, remove or change features from time to time. We may also suspend or discontinue parts of the service where reasonably necessary.

8. Disclaimer and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ulbo is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, Ulbo.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded, restricted or modified under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law.

Where our liability can legally be limited, we limit it to the extent permitted by law, including, where applicable, to supplying the services again or paying the cost of having the services supplied again.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you through the app or another appropriate method.

Your continued use of Ulbo after the updated terms take effect means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.

You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales, Australia.
